In Room 11 we have being having fun with our writing. Today we did tag team writing.
Tag Team Writing

Start with a stem sentence on a page for every student. Ring the bell or start the music and they write the next sentence. Fold the page and pass to the next person around the room. They then read the story and add the next sentence. After a few times, tell them the next sentence needs to end the story. Have a read of some of our hilarious stories: (The sentence in bold was the stem starter)

I pushed open the old creaky door and looked inside. What a sight met my eyes!
A creepy monster was behind the door. The monster killed a kid. The kid turned bloody after the kid got killed, it was such a horror. And a man and a kid kill the monster back….. I was scared I ran to my bed and cried.

The air turned black all around me.
It scared me and I thought it was a dream. There were tornados around me and they
scooped me up and I was swirling me around. And they got hurt. There is fire all around me I can’t see around. And a man killed fired monster.

I woke up with a start, something was in my room. The wardrobe doors opened and it came out of my wardrobe.
A ghost came out of the wardrobe. It gave me a big fright. It was so scary. I ran outside to tell my Mum, because I was so scared! My Mum was so scared too.

It all started with an enormous bang…..
It was one o’clock in the morning as I took a big stretch and I saw a…… big monster…… I could not believe my eyes. It was so huge like gigantic. It had glowing eyes. It had sharp claws and sharp teeth.

It was the day the moon fell.
The monster ate the moon one time and the moon fell.  As the monster was chewing on the crumbly moon he felt a cramp in his tummy. The cramp was so bad he had to spew. He was glowing white when he had to spew.  The poison moon spewed out. The moon had yucky goo on it, the moon turned green.

It was the most beautiful sea shell I had ever seen.
The sea shell was rainbow…. It was very sparkly also shiny, I could not believe it.
I picked it up and dusted of the sand and turned it over and inside was a little Hermit Crab. I named her Sally and took her home. The crab was cute and the shell was pretty. I kept them both, it is so cool inside because it is so
shiny.

It was a bright, frosty morning. The pavement glistened like a carpet of crushed diamonds in the early morning sunshine.
It was a so sunny I could not see it in the sunlight. It was so sunny. I was too hot and I fell on my bed! I fainted and I banged my head on the ground.

It was the funniest thing I had ever seen, I could not stop laughing.
It was a dog dancing on my bed. It twirled like a ballerina and I killed the dog…..
We put the dog in a grave. He turned off as thick as a piece of paper, he thought that boogers came out of it.

Peeking through the window her surprise turned to horror….
It was a scary monster with enormous green eyes. It had red glowing teeth with blood dripping from it’s teeth. It is so scary and the door was locked. The kid got a knife and killed the monster. The monster escaped to the ocean and a
shark ate him whole.

Dear Parents/Caregivers,

Wow it is unbelievable to think another term is over and after the holidays, Christmas will be looming!  We hope you have a safe and fun filled holidays. The children have all worked really hard this term.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the wonderful parents who have helped this term with our trip to the zoo and the sculpture project. Next term we have the annual Christmas lights and will be looking for parents willing to take on this project for room 11!

As part of our Inquiry unit and following on from our trip to the zoo, room 11 have decided to take on a very exciting project - we would like to give back to our school community. To do this we want to raise money to buy a bird house, which we will paint and place in the school grounds for all to enjoy.

We have come up with the idea of raising the money, by students offering to do chores over the holidays to earn some pocket money. The students might wash a car, help with sweeping, fold washing, do some weeding, or even helping out with meeting some animals needs at home by washing pets, cleaning enclosures, taking pets for a walk etc.  We are thinking that if every student can earn a gold coin donation, then we will have enough money to buy a bird house that we can all decorate. If we have any extra money earned, we will look at buying a couple of the bird houses and will decorate and have these positioned in various places around the school.

You will also receive a notice before the end of this week about Craig Smith, the Wonky Donkey man, coming to perform to our team towards the end of Week One!  We have a very exciting Term Four planned!

Have a safe and relaxing holiday break,

Kind regards

Jodie and Rachel

Have a look at some of the amazing animals that many people don't even know exist. In room 11 we have had a fantastic time designing our own hybrid animals.
